Safe Start Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of its students.
Each student’s welfare is of paramount importance.
Where there are concerns about a child’s welfare, the school will contact appropriate agencies, share information with them and work in partnership with them.
Concerns will be discussed with the family if it will not place the child at risk of significant harm.
The child’s view will also be considered in deciding whether to inform the family in some circumstances, particularly where the child is sufficiently mature to make informed judgements.
We recognise that some children may be especially vulnerable to abuse.
We recognise that children who are abused or neglected may find it difficult to develop a sense of self-worth and to view the world in a positive way.
We recognise that some children who have experienced abuse may harm others.
We will always take a considered and sensitive approach in order that we can support all of our pupils.
Any deficiencies or weaknesses in child protection arrangements will be remedied without delay.
Safeguarding our students.
Safeguarding and child protection is everyone’s responsibility. Our Safeguarding policy applies to all staff, volunteers and governors in the school and is consistent with the procedures of the 3 safeguarding partners.
